DI "Interest Meeting"
November 14, 2019 3:15 PM
Destination Imagination
(DI) After School Club “Interest Meetings†are scheduled
for Thursday, November 14th
at 3:15pm @ the Seabury Middle School Campus (for a MD team) and on Monday, November 18th at
3:15pm @ the Seabury
Lower School Campus (for a LS team)
Destination Imagination
(DI) is a global educational nonprofit dedicated to inspiring the next
generation of innovators, leaders and creative problem solvers. We are looking
for at least two parent volunteers to co-lead and manage a Seabury team and at
least 1 additional volunteer! This
program is for students in the 3rd – 8th grades. The club
would need to start meeting for 1-day a week afterschool (3:30-5:00pm) starting
in mid-November. The club will run through late February which would be the
regional tournament.
DI programs are designed to foster
creativity and curiosity through a fun, hands-on learning experience. DI’s most popular program is the “Team
Challenge†program, where kids work together in teams to solve one of seven
different Challenges: Technical, Scientific, Fine Arts, Improv, Engineering,
Service Learning or Early Learning. Students also have the opportunity to
showcase their solution to the Challenge at a local tournament. Through solving
a DI Challenge, kids learn invaluable life skills as they navigate the creative
process—a powerful learning tool that teaches them how to think, not what to think. This first “interest meeting†is
for both parents and students who are interested in participating.
