12:30 to 3:30 p.m.; grades 5-7; $75

Join Tacoma author Mary Boone for a class that’s equal parts writing and visual arts exploration. We’ll start by creating and revising short stories. Then we’ll make those stories into tiny handmade books that fit inside mint tins that we decorate using collage. This is a fast-paced, hands-on workshop that’s appropriate for all skill levels.

12:30 to 3:30 p.m.; grades 2-4; $75

Join Tacoma artist and Seabury art teacher Angela Larsen to learn to use your stories, dreams, and ideas to create art zines and comics. Learn how to develop a character, storyline, and create your own artist comic!
