Seabury School is developing a unique middle school program which will launch in the fall of 2009. Come and learn about plans for the program. Seabury's Head of School, Sandi Wollum, will present information about the program plan and admissions process, and will answer questions from participants.

Featured Speakers:
Jayasri Ghosh, Ph.D.
Dr. Ghosh has spent the 25 years of her career working on behalf of highly capable students. Her work has included heading programs for gifted students in the Tacoma School District and serving as Head of School at Seattle Country Day School. Recently, Dr. Ghosh served as Head of School at Annie Wright School in Tacoma. She was instrumental in founding WAETAG (Washington Association of Educators for the Talented and Gifted) and has taught university level courses in gifted education. Dr. Ghosh continues to work with both public and private schools to promote understanding of the differentiated needs of highly capable learners.
Sandi Wollum, Head of School, Seabury School
Ms. Wollum has taught and headed programs for highly capable students in both public and private schools. Before coming to Seabury School, she served as a PEAK program teacher and gifted program coordinator for Sumner School District. Ms. Wollum currently serves as Head of School at Seabury, the South Puget Sound's only independent school for highly capable children. Her passion is providing appropriate educational opportunities for gifted children, allowing them to grow and discover their own potential as learners.
Betsy Gellert, M.Ed., Seabury School Head Teacher, Fulbright Scholar
Ms. Gellert has taught both elementary and middle school students at Seabury School for nearly 15 years. A dynamic and innovative teacher, Ms. Gellert is known for challenging her gifted students and for making learning come alive through creative projects and hands-on activities. In 2006, Ms. Gellert was selected to be a Fulbright Scholar and traveled to Japan as part of the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund program. She is a strong advocate for gifted children and will share from her wealth of experience meeting their needs in the classroom.
