Know a Seabury kid? With programs for students from prekindergarten through middle school, Seabury is specifically designed for gifted students. Small class sizes allow our teachers, who have extensive training and experience in gifted education, to provide differentiated instruction to develop each child's individual talents and strengths. Seabury students learn to socialize and problem-solve with intellectual peers.
"Education with the brakes off." That's how one dad described education at Seabury, which is the only independent school in the South Puget Sound area with programs specifically designed for intellectually advanced children in pre-k - 8th grade. Families from Tacoma, Federal Way, Kent, Auburn, Gig Harbor and throughout the South Sound bring their children to Seabury for our differentiated instruction and emphasis on the development of creative and analytical thinking skills.
Although the instruction at Seabury is individualized and each student is encouraged to grow their individual strengths and talents, students are able to learn together with other intellectually advanced peers. We have found that being able to socialize in an environment where gifted children don't feel different often allows students to grow into confident individuals and leaders in their communities. In fact, one of our middle schoolers exclaimed on his first visit to the school: "I've found my people."
