Technology is a tool

In pre-k and kindergarten, our students might practice math strategies on an iPad and document a neighborhood walk using digital cameras. By first grade, our students are beginning to use Word and Publisher as tools for communication and to document  their ideas with videos and pictures. They also begin to interview sources via Skype. By third grade, PowerPoint and Excel are added to the toolbox and soon all writing is done using technology. By middle school that's a given. Our students also start incorporating technology-based organizational skills, information literacy skills. and science and math tools into their daily work in the very early grades and hone those skills all along the way. Our middle school is a laptop based program, with an innovative technology program based on independent projects.
