Welcome to Seabury School!
Seabury School is an independent school, currently serving highly capable children from preschool through sixth grade.
New Development! A Seabury middle school, serving students in grades 6-8, is currently in development and expected to open on a satellite campus in the fall of 2009. During the 2008-2009 school year, Seabury will serve middle school students in grades 6 and 7 on its main campus.
Founded in 1989, Seabury is the only independent school in the South Puget Sound specializing in providing excellence in education for intellectually advanced children. Children from Tacoma, Federal Way, Kent, Auburn, Gig Harbor, Puyallup and throughout the South Puget Sound region come to Seabury for its personalized approach to education and emphasis on the development of creative and analytical thinking skills. Seabury is a member of the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools (PNAIS) and the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NASC).
Seabury School Features:
- Early Learning Center (ages 3-5) Montessori program
- Elementary Program (K-6th grade) designed to meet the needs of highly capable learners
- Middle School development: Seabury will serve students in grades 6 and 7 on its main campus during the 2008-2009 school year, and plans to open a middle school serving students in 6th - 8th grade on a separate campus in the fall of 2009.
- Small class sizes (usually 15 or fewer students in grades K - 6)
- Full and half-day options available for the Early Learning Center program
- Full-day kindergarten program
- A highly skilled faculty with extensive training and experience in education for highly capable learners
- Specialist Programs for all students: French, Physical Education,, Music, and Library.
- Reading specialist works with all primary grade students
- Library Media Center: 11,000+ volumes
- 2 computer labs with technology incorporated into instruction at all grade levels.
- Before and after care are offered to Seabury students. Before care begins at 7 a.m. and after care ends at 6 p.m.
