Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG)

Parent Discussion Groups

Seabury School is proud to offer SENG guided discussion groups for parents of Seabury students as well as parents of gifted children from the surrounding community.  In SENG groups, parents of gifted children meet weekly for 9-10 weeks to discuss the social and emotional needs of their gifted children, and parenting issues related to those needs.  Using the book A Parent's Guide to Gifted Children as a jumping off place for discussion,  the emphasis in SENG groups is on the positive aspects of parenting, avoiding power struggles, and helping gifted children learn appropriate life skills while enhancing the parent/child relationship and parent self-esteem.

SENG groups for 2009 have not yet been scheduled. Contact the Seabury office for more information about registering or to be included in mailings regarding upcoming sessions.
