ABOUT THE SEABURY COMMUNITY

At Seabury, highly capable children encounter, sometimes for the first time in their lives, age peers who are also their intellectual peers. Students who have previously found it difficult to relate with children their age suddenly find themselves surrounded by other children who share their sense of humor, passion for learning, and curiosity about the world - children who think like they do. Seabury students form strong bonds of friendship that often continue after they leave Seabury and move on to middle school.
Students entering Seabury find themselves in a supportive community that extends beyond the classroom walls. Each week at Wednesday morning's All-School Gathering, Seabury's students, staff and parents join in singing, "We're Family," a song that reminds us that the Seabury community really is an extended family that cares for one another and celebrates each member's gifts.

Seabury's parents also find community with other parents experiencing the joys and challenges of raising highly capable children. Parent discussion groups, fun family activities, and a variety of community events allow Seabury families to gather and learn from, have fun with and support one another. Parents and students often remark that being part of the Seabury family has been incredibly important to them, and is one of the most valuable benefits of enrollment at Seabury.
