Seabury is accepting applications for the prekindergarten program, the elementary program (grades K-5), and for Seabury Middle School (grades 6-8).
Admissions Process
Tours and open houses are held throughout the year. Parents of children who would benefit from an academic environment designed to meet the needs of the highly capable learner are encouraged to attend an open house, or to contact the school office to arrange for a private tour.
Seabury's admissions team is committed to working with parents to determine if Seabury is the appropriate academic environment for their child.
Seabury’s admissions process includes the following steps:
- Request an admissions packet from Seabury's office.
- Submit a completed application form. A $100, non-refundable application fee must accompany the form. Depending on the grade level, school records, work samples, and letters of reference may be requested with the application form.
- Required for kindergarten through middle school applicants / optional for prekindergarten: Submit individual test results. Families of applicants provide the results of an assessment of cognitive ability given by a licensed psychologist. Seabury offers a list of recommended local psychologists who can provide assessment services. If your child has been tested for a public school gifted program or as part of another assessment, contact Seabury's office to determine whether additional testing is necessary.
- Upon receipt of application materials, Seabury’s staff will contact applicants to arrange for a school visit. All prospective students spend a day or part of a day, depending on age, in a classroom as part of the application process. Middle school applicants will visit the middle school campus, and the day will include an interview with a middle school teacher.
- The admissions team meets to review the application materials.
- Qualified students are accepted as space is available. Waiting lists are formed with when classes are full.
